Finding the ideal WordPress hosting company can be complicated. Simply searching for web hosting companies doesn’t work. While there are plenty of great reviews about many of the more popular hosting sites, it’s not always a simple choice.

Affiliate marketing is a useful tool. But it can also mean that the reviews you read could be biased. If you dig a little deeper and look at what the users have to say, a different picture might emerge.

There will always be good and bad reviews, and your final choice will depend on your preference, what you’ve heard, and what offering suits you best. But before you decide on your host, we recommend that you look at what the reviews have to say.

Here are a few review sites that we recommend:

Choosing your host

Between the various hosting offerings, the price doesn’t vary too much. Most have an introductory special, or low starting cost, which reverts to the original fee when you renew. Most require you to pay upfront for at least a year, or have monthly hosting for an additional charge.

So it really comes down to the quality of the product. The hosting company needs to provide an easy-to-use product with efficient support. If you already have a domain, look for a hosting option that offers a free domain transfer. You don’t want to have to pay to move your domain across.

If you’re starting out, look for something reasonably priced, but that comes well-recommended (by word-of-mouth as much as by the reviews). Ultimately though, you’ll need to find the host company that works for you.

When you sign up with your chosen hosting company, you’ll need to have your domain name ready. If you’ve already done this, then you can move onto the next step and install WordPress.
